Introduction of Cup-lock system scaffolding

Cup-lock system scaffolding as one of the main scaffolding systems, is designed with a central node. And due to the connecting node shaped like a cup, people figuratively call it as the cup-lock scaffolding. Generally speaking, the overall structure of the cup-lock is more standardized, and the specifications of the components are more uniform in size. And this kind of structure is well used in the middle east, the USA and the UK.

The components that make up the cup-lock are the standard, ledger, transom, diagonal brace, spigot connector, steel plank with hook, ladder, jack base and the most important top cup and bottom cup. Usually, the material of the standard is the Q345, other components are the Q235. And the surface treatment is in hot dipped galvanized.

The assembling of cup-lock system is not much difficult. Firstly, place the jack base according to the calculated position. Then insert the standard with welded top and bottom cups into the jack base. Insert the ledgers to the bottom cup of corresponding standard and the same to the diagonal brace. When all the ledgers and diagonal braces are inserted in the bottom cup, adjust the top cup to fix the connection between the bottom and top cups. Finally, put the steel planks with hook on the ledger. If there are ladders, fix up the ladders with coupler.

There are many advantages of the cup-lock system scaffolding:

  1. lightweight but high load capacity
  2. Easy to assemble
  3. The maintenance is simple and cost less
  4. The transportation is convenient
  5. Sturdy and durable

However due to the node of the cup is fixed, the size of the ledger is limited. And the price is higher compared to other simple scaffolding.
